What is a Canada Gap Certification?

The Canada Gap Certification is a food and safety program for companies that deal with producing and packing vegetables and fruits. The certification is based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points which uses scientific methods to determine food safety. This certification is the first food safety program in Canada to have Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognition. For an organization to certified, they must follow all food safety requirements that are created by the horticultural industry and be reviewed by Canadian government officials
